  • Our History

    Patent Brokerage at UBM TechInsights has a heritage stemming from Semiconductor Insights’ over two decades of history assisting clients with the monetization of their IP assets. The brokerage activity has been largely driven by the divestiture of assets through sell-side mandates but the brokerage group recently launched a buy-side activity assisting clients with the acquisition of key assets for negotiation purposes or simply for freedom to operate. A number of advanced brokerage capabilities are also offered which are described under Services.

  • Our Approach

    In sell-side engagements we create detailed characterizations of the patent assets before launching any divestment program. Then, through professional marketing practices and the use of a virtual data room we seek to develop bid tension among buyers. For buy-side engagements we combine both patent mining and market canvassing efforts to deliver an array of portfolios supported by detailed evidence of use with complete anonymity for our client. Our compensation is success based and thus our goals are aligned with those of our client.
