Samsung has continually been the first manufacturer to move to smaller lithography processes and was the first to reach milestones such as the first sub-90nm NAND process with their 73nm 4Gb NAND Flash, and is now the first to reach the advanced 65nm process. Compared to their previous generation devices, they have been able to offer the same density solution in a die size almost 16% smaller. The die shrink enables more die per wafer, reducing costs and increasing margin.
