The E-GOLDvoice (PMB7880) is the heart of Infineon’s second platform generation for low-cost handsets, the ULC2 (Ultra Low Cost 2). Improving upon the first generation single-chip E-GOLDradio, the E-GOLDvoice adds to the integration of baseband and radio frequency transceiver functionality by also integrating power management. This feature makes the E-GOLDvoice the first GSM single-chip with a Power Management Unit (PMU).
This second generation single-chip features power management in digital CMOS technology and includes advanced circuitry to allow direct-to-battery connection without the use of external regulators.

SMARTi PM (PMB6272) is a low-cost, highly integrated quad-band single chip CMOS transceiver for GSM850/GSM900/GSM1800/GSM1900 voice and high performance data transfer applications.
The transceiver is designed for lowest power consumption, and provides an analog I/Q baseband interface, a Zero IF direct conversion receiver and a quad-band polar modulator for EDGE with integrated PGA functionality. It comprises a completely integrated digital SD-synthesizer with HSCSD and GPRS/EDGE capability, a digitally controlled reference oscillator with three outputs and a fully integrated quad-band RF oscillator (VCO). The Universal I/Q Interface and three wire bus fit to Infineon and all common basebands available on the market.
The optimized architecture of the SMARTi PM ensures an easy-to-use EDGE solution enabling a very size effective RF Engine implementation.
