The Samsung Wave - the comeback?

  • UBM TechInsights not only has the most detailed product teardowns in the industry, but also the most comprehensive library of completed work. The Samsung wave analysis will join the 1000+ reports already in place.

Inside the Samsung Wave, we were able to discover some key design wins for companies like Qualcomm, Skyworks, and, of course, big win for Samsung as they were able to design in their memory and their applications processor. The most important find would be that the Hummingbird processor (part number S5PC110A01) that was chosen to run the new BADA OS features the same ARM core as the Apple iPhone 4’s A4 processor.

The Samsung Wave is the first in a line of new smartphones being released by Samsung as it tries to gain prominence in a mobile handset industry that they once had a large market share in. As the smartphone market now features names like Apple, HTC and RIM, Samsung is striving to make themselves a legitimate contender in the industry.

Using the expertise that can only be provided by UBM TechInsights, all the information you need – from what exactly is in the Wave to the technology that comprises each individual component – can be made available to you using the resources of our combined analytical capabilities and our expansive database of information.
